A Taste of Harmony

A Taste of Harmony is about recognising and celebrating the rich cultural diversity that exists in Australian workplaces.

An initiative of The Scanlon Foundation, A Taste of Harmony will take place during the week of 19–25 March 2012 and coincides with National Harmony Day.

A Taste of Harmony encourages all workplaces to celebrate their diversity by gathering colleagues together over a delicious lunch made up of foods from different lands.

The Scanlon Foundation

The Scanlon Foundation is a philanthropic organisation established in June 2001. Its mission is to support the creation of a cohesive Australian society.

The Foundation supports a number of social cohesion research projects and makes grants for charitable purposes in Australia, particularly in the areas of cultural diversity and social cohesion.

To borrow words from Hugh Mackay, Australia's most pre-eminent social researcher, in Australia,

A Taste of Harmony gives all Australian businesses the opportunity to recognise and celebrate cultural diversity, with the aim of achieving greater understanding and appreciation of what has, and continues to be, a key strength of our nation."
