Why are you supporting A Taste of Harmony?

The world becomes a better place when many cultures and cuisines sit down at the same table – and the best thing is that it’s so much fun!

Why should Australians get involved with A Taste of Harmony?

Lunch is the most civilised meal of the day – it’s a delicious pause that lifts you out of what you’ve been doing and sets you back on course. Your taste buds will be the winners as there is only good to come from this, so dive in and enjoy!

Does food bring people from different walks of life together and lead to harmony?

I sometimes think our world leaders should sit down over good food and many things could get sorted! It sounds simplistic, but I believe food and the culture that goes with that food opens doors, breaks down barriers and helps understanding.

Is celebrating cultural diversity important?

Australia would be a very boring place if we didn’t have so many people from around the world come and teach us about everything from olive oil to appreciating good coffee and bread. We are a richer country as a result – can you imagine life without Italian pizza, Moroccan spices, Vietnamese salads?

How have you embraced and experienced cultural diversity in your own life?

Embraced it? I’ve run headlong at it and given it a huge hug. I’ve worked and surrounded myself with people from many backgrounds, and my life is much richer as a result.
