METHOD
Preparation:
Roast dal till it turns golden brown in a pan or wok. Boil jaggery in 1 cup water to make thin syrup, drain and keep it aside.
Cooking Procedure:
In a pressure cooker, heat ghee and fry the dry fruits till golden brown. Add milk, sugar, rice, roasted dal, and jaggery syrup boil and cook for 3 whistles. Stir well. Garnish with dry fruits and serve hot or chilled.
Note: If pressure cooker is not available, you can cook in a deep bottomed pan with a lid tight lid. Cooking time 1 whistle = 15 mins on medium flame.
