Information about this year’s A Taste of Harmony

A note from the Scanlon Foundation CEO

Dear Event Hosts,

Thank you for registering your event for A Taste of Harmony 2020. You are part of thousands of people who are taking part in highly anticipated events and Australia’s biggest celebration of cultural diversity in the workplace.

In light of the Covid-19 virus we are keen to communicate important information about this year’s A Taste of Harmony to our participants.

This includes:

-We will continue to provide support for A Taste of Harmony registrants hosting their events during 16 – 27 March 2020.

-There is the option to postpone your event if your organisation would prefer to host at a later date.

-Events can be hosted from March 2020 until end of August 2020, and you will be able to update your dates in the Event Hub.

-As always, we encourage all participants to use safe food practices as outlined by health authorities. Please take a moment to read this guide.

-Most importantly we encourage all organisations to follow all Covid-19 health advice from the Department of Health.

-There is also the option to host an event that is not based around food, here are some alternative ideas.

-We encourage workplaces to embrace cultural diversity throughout the year. In the coming week, we’ll be providing all of our registered participants with links to ten new fact sheets developed to help workplaces respond to some of their day to day challenges.

We encourage each organisation to make a decision that is in their best interests, their staff and the broader community on how and when they take part in A Taste of Harmony. Our aim is to allow people to share their culture at work which we hope results in enabling people to bring their whole self to work. The get-togethers break down barriers, bringing about meaningful interactions between people who may not otherwise have connected.

In whichever form you choose to take part, whether it’s sharing food, recipes or even just a story, we wish everyone safe, joyful and meaningful events.

Any questions can be directed to contact@tasteofharmony.org.au and will be responded to as quickly as possible.

Kind regards
