A Taste of Harmony celebrates diversity in Australian workplaces by encouraging colleagues to share food and stories from different cultural backgrounds from across the globe.

An initiative of the Scanlon Foundation, A Taste of Harmony will celebrate its eighth anniversary in 2016.

There’s no fee or fundraising involved and it’s quick and easy to register your workplace online.

Simply register here, choose a date within the week of March 21 to 27, 2016 to hold your event, and ask workmates to bring a dish to share.

It’s a fun, delicious way to celebrate our cultural diversity!

The Scanlon Foundation is a philanthropic organisation established in June 2001. Its mission is to support the creation of a cohesive Australian society.

The Foundation supports a number of social cohesion research projects and makes grants for charitable purposes in Australia, particularly in the areas of cultural diversity and social cohesion.

"Australia has and always will be a nation of immigrants. At the Scanlon Foundation, we are passionate about supporting and celebrating cultural diversity - it is the defining feature of our society and has contributed enormously to Australia's success.

To borrow words from Hugh Mackay, Australia's pre-eminent social researcher:

"...We are world champions at creating a harmonious society from a blend of people who, over the years, have come here from every imaginable birthplace."

A Taste of Harmony gives all Australian businesses the opportunity to recognise and celebrate cultural diversity, with the aim of achieving greater understanding and appreciation of what has, and continues to be, a key strength of our nation."
