The Scanlon Foundation is a philanthropic organisation established in June 2001. Its mission is to see Australia advance as a welcoming, prosperous and cohesive nation particularly where this relates to the transition of migrants into Australian society.
The Foundation acknowledges that Australia is and will continue to be a migrant nation. Our cultural diversity shapes us as a nation. How well we transition our migrants into Australian society will impact substantially on the prosperity and cohesiveness of Australia and for all Australians. Our migrant history has and will continue to shape us as a nation and that for Australia to continue to advance as a productive and welcoming nation, monitoring and supporting social cohesion is vital. To support this mission the Foundation supports a number of projects throughout the year which contribute to social cohesion including the annual Mapping Social Cohesion Report.
