Flourish Australia is a unique not-for-profit organisation that provides a range of services to support people’s mental health recovery. These services aim to help people find a home, make friends, get involved in their community, learn new things or find suitable employment.

Kristin was born to Australian parents in Bathurst, NSW, and grew up in Canberra. Her paternal grandparents were British; her grandfather was raised in Australia before becoming a Rhodes Scholar and is considered one of Australia’s greatest educators of the 20th Century.

The minute you meet Centrelink employee Cuc Lam you are struck by her infectious smile and positive attitude.

Mckenzie is Canadian and grew up in Toronto, Canada with her family.  She came to Australia five years ago on exchange for one semester, then recently did some traveling and found herself back in Sydney. 

Dave’s ancestors arrived in Australia on the first fleet and were free settlers in South Australia, although the family has since relocated to New South Wales.

Samantha was born in America, spending her childhood in Connecticut and Maine and her University years in Vermont.  Her great grandparents were farmers in Indiana. Her parents were born in Hartford, Connecticut; her mother was a teacher and her father worked for the local gas company.

For Annie, friends are family, and she loves feeding them! She has even hosted a ‘Friendmas’ and entertained twenty people.

It is no surprise that Petra arrives to the photoshoot having just got off the phone from her Bulgarian mother. She is the matriarch of the family, a strong character and ‘a doer’ as a result of her early life as a refugee.
